Auto IT

Auto IT

AutoIt is a scripting language intended for automating the Windows GUI and general scripting. It allows a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement and window/control manipulation in order to automate tasks in a manner not possible or dependable with other languages (e.g. VBScript and SendKeys). AutoIt is very small, self-contained and will run on all flavours of Windows out-of-the-box with no annoying "runtimes" required!

I have used AutoIT in situations where the overhead of a fully featured product such as Visual Basic is undesirable. I have automated the control of IrfanView.

I have also used Auto IT for creating bespoke FTP solutions to allow my clients to easily backup of Internet based data without the need to understand FTP.
