Bath was popular with the Romans in the 1st century, AD where they built the now famous Roman Baths with the discovery of the Hot Springs. It became a fashionable resort in the 18th century where Beau Nash was Master of Ceremonies in the Pump Rooms and the Assembly Rooms.
